Teaching Grandma to use Skype

Our adventure really started the moment we broke our daily routine and left work. We were given an amazing send off from all our colleagues and a pretty cool parting gift......dinner and a nights stay at the Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok to be used whenever we're fed up of budget hostels, bed bugs and banana pancakes! Thanks everyone!!

We then went to Cornwall to visit Dee's family and to do some pre-trip training. Did lots of walking to wear in our shiny new walking boots and got used to eating traditional local cuisine (pasties and cream teas!). We tried out some public transport (yes, we went on a bus!), had a go on Skype and spent loads of time at the beach because the weather was so nice. Sad to say goodbye to the Ince family.

We had a great time at our friends and family farewell parties and again got more fabulous gifts including loads of foreign currency and an iPod Touch, which I think will come in very handy! Thanks guys, we will miss you!

Having said our goodbyes and our India visas and passports returned we are making the final preparations for our trip. After years of dreaming and months of planning we are off on Thursday. Will all our things fit into our rucksacks? Will Holly be able to lift hers? Do we actually need any of the things we're taking? Can we work out how to use this travelblog? will grandma ever learn skype? will I ever learn Skype? Wot is Skype anyway. We really enjoyed your stay with us we know you will have a fantastic time wherever you go hope that there is a decent skateshop in Bangkok coz Dee will have broken his board by then and I am sure Holly will get some solar powered hair straighteners.
