Caught the train first up to Zermatt, then onto Gornergrat to view the mighty Matterhorn. Up at 10,000 feet, the air was cool, the snow thick. Unfortunatey was a bit of cloud round the mountain, but still great scenery. Plenty of skiers still about taking good advantage of the snow.
In the afternoon, drove though the vineyards of the lower Rhone valley to Lake Geneva. Past Montreaux, famous for its jazz festival, and Vevey, famous for the home of Charlie Chaplin and headquarters to Nestle. Overnight stop just outside Lausanne, home of the Olympic committee.
