First time going to Switzerland my dad woke me up since I had passed out after my alarm ringing and I almost missed my flight, theres a first time for everything. Made it there and had a lift with a blablacar ride going to Aarau, it was a guy and his mom talking in their own language and in the end I passed out and slept all the way to Aarau. They dropped me off outside the city by the highway and I managed to hitchike into the center of the city.
My friend was working all day at the tattoo studio there, but his friends brought me down to the river for a swim and for beers - its like a small piece of paradise, and I would never have found it on my own. It was 30 degrees and almost felt all tropical sitting there surrounded by forrest and rivers - not what I expected from Switzerland.
In the evening they all made a big BBQ at the friends place, but then hughe pieces of hail started fallling out of the sky all of the sudden. It stopped again and we managed to have a really lovely
dinner and evening, some of the guys designing tattoos and everyone hanging out having beers till late.
The day after we slept a bit in and then had a walk around the city. My blablacar ride was almost cancelled, but the same minute as I bought my train ticket the guy called me that he would pick me up anyways - he thought Aarau was further of the way than it was. Trainticket was around 75 euros, blablacar 18 euros. So I got a refund on the ticket and went with the car. It was full of lovely travellers so it was a very nice ride.
Got to Geneva where my friend was waiting for me and had a quick shower before making it out to Festes de Geneve. There was a small tivoli and concerts and we had a few drinks there, before meeting up with some of her friends and going out.
The next day my friend showed me around the city, it was a nice day, but not very sunny which was a shame. It was still hot so a lot of people were doing bbq's by the "beach". We walked up to the
old town with small streets and old buildings and found a nice place for lunch - but expensive as everything in Switzerland. Later we walked up to see the city from a nice viewpoint by an old museum, where you could see the famous fountain clearly.
Then we made it down to a small park, crossed the lake by boat and walked along the water before it was time for me to head back.
Second time I went with a friend, just to Geneva this time. We were invited to a house warming party at my friends new flat, and arrived late Friday night. The day after we had a breakfast/lunch by the lake after crossing with the boat. Nice sunny day. We went up to the mountains on the French side and had an amazing view over all of the city. Had a really nice artesanal beer breewed up there and enjoyed the view a bit more before it was time to go down.
Then we went back to the apartment and got ready for the house warming party. A lot of people came and the thing didnt end till 6 in the morning - so
as you can imagine we slept in the next day. Then we went to this Japanese festival to find some good food. Saw some weird dancing and martial arts, but the lines to the food stands were too long, so we ended up having an expensive brunch at a nice little but very hipster cafe - then time to head home to Barcelona again.
