Big Building
Right down the street from our Hotel...ther are numerous buildings like this here in Stockholm..many hundreds upon hundreds of years old..... Today was awesome! We got to tour Stockholm & you better believe our feet & backs are sorer than anything…. We visited mom’s grocery store (for those who don’t know she has to check a grocery store every time she goes to a new country.. something that started back in Guatemala daysJ Song of the day… “Hey Jude” by Beatles... Included is a pic where we stayed our first couple nights here “Crystal Plaza”…all the buildings look old like the large one as well as included…its so cool…they are least a couple hundred years old. Moms favorite things today we’re finding the thrift stores which the first had a bunch of WWII stuff but also another underground one as well that had a multitude of books and hand me down stuff (that nobody ever wants anymore granted so it looked like stuff ya don’t want) but within the store I met an awesome old dude named Alexander (whom knew english…I couldn’t get away with my crap basic Swedish…even “thank you”…mom & I have had problems with)…. We talked about why the sweeds like Americans, about heritage, and America vs. Europe….i had a great hour talk while mom shopped & got
Alex & I
He babysat the second thrift store where mom dove through a plentitude of swedish books & I sat & chatted with Alexander.... her homemade sweed buy, a candle stick. We also visited the huge ol Vasa ship as mentioned yesterday, yes it was very big but I got horrible pics…ill attach a google image to show ya’ll what it looks like. We also finally found after two days “George the dragon slayer” another one of moms favorite…yes we walked a good 5 to 8 miles today around a very large garden park with many backing the day homes/cottages & sculptures .. Intervening the walk with random bus rides in which we repeated towards the end of the day just to get off of our feet for a bit. Also, caught a ferry at one point back to Gamla Stan (old school Stockholm…cobble streets, a 18 century water well, thrift stores and numerous statues along with the Main Palace for the country (ie. Sweed Washington DC) were head-less (yea I guess the time being temporary concurrers didn’t like the king’s face on the many palace’s statues cause their all headless?) Tomorrow we hit Lund.. more south-west Sweden, and we meet up with Cousins Chris & Julie for the night…I guess it’s a youthful college town but still has a different appeal then here,
Thrift Store
The second Thrift Store...Mom loved it! Sunday morning to Copenhagen, Denmark. No dancing naked under the summer solstice but the sun just went down @ 12:30 am here (30 min ago)…although does it count if im typing this in my brassier & mom’s taking a bath? J (not to be straight forward or anything…) Ok well mom & I must retrieve our bus tickets early…ha like 9:30ish again (not to brag sorry) I just think its funny that we keep saying we’ll og early & never do….we’ll be on a train 3am-8am your time over there tomorrow…and until we meet up again…have a good night everybody! TTY-ASAP!!!
