There is a small island just off the coast from Torekov where we are staying and a ferry runs 2 or 3 times a day. Yesterday the wind was too strong for the ferry to operate, so we drove to the Kullen peninsular. On the way we stopped at a memorial to where a UFO was reported as landing in 1946. I haven’t read the details as these are in a book, but next to the memorial is a place where 2 dead aliens were supposedly buried temporarily while the UFO made repairs. Will try to find a copy of the book in English.
On the peninsula we walk to the Kullen lighthouse. This is the oldest lighthouse in Scandinavia and was originally built in 1561. It is also the highest and the most powerful in Sweden. From 1577- 1601 the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe was responsible for its operation.
Just a few km down the coast is the village of Molle which has a harbour with some interesting statues.
Today we are in luck and the ferry to the island, Hallands Vadero, is running. No-one lives permanently on the island, though there are some holiday homes for

Place where 2 UPO crew members were buried rental in the Summer. The whole island is a nature Reserve, and we are hoping we will see seals there. Torekov also has a good little harbour with a small museum about the many ships that have been wrecked on the rocks here.
The boat ride out to the island takes just 20 minutes. We first walk to the south end of the island where we see sheep on the beach and then follow the path up the west coast. We are in luck with wildlife and spot a large group of seals swimming with two of them lying on the rocks just offshore.
