To experience Sweden in summer is amazing, long and sunny nights, green and calm landscape which can turn to gray and stormy days. People mood changes with the weather and big crowds of people to the parks on a sunny day. The summer in Scandinavia is really short. This summer was extremely long and warm for Swedish people (2 months with sun and +25-30 degrees every day) and everyone is really happy about it. Usually, a summer here used to be just few weeks. For some people this summer is really hard because they are not used to this wonderful weather. They are complaining on warm summer and on cold winters.

However, we loved this amazing summer weather. Chris stayed in Sweden while Diana was working in Oslo. Well, Chris loved to experience his new country in summer time. He got few outside jobs and he enjoyed it. Also, he experienced a crazy Swedish midsummer and he got to dance “small frogs” dance (små grodorna). If someone has seen it so you know that it is the craziest dance ever and everyone is laughing at strange Swedish people. People are dancing and singing around a midsummer tree. It is a huge celebration in Sweden - all shops are close and everyone celebrate midsummer with herrings, meatballs, snaps etc. Many people are meeting with their friends and families, and celebrate midsummer in summer house near lake/sea, on the boat or in a garden at home. It is an unequal midsummer celebration.

The most important part of our summer - Chris parents came over to Sweden to visit Diana’s family and of course Sweden. It was a wonderful meeting and we enjoyed every single moment to be together. It was long and hectic days because we wanted to show them so much of Sweden. They stayed just for six days and it isn’t enough to show the most important and remarkable places in Sweden. But we think it was a successful time in this colorful country. Chris dad has Swedish blood from 17th century and it was really interesting for him to see his root’s country. Also we tried to find some old relatives of them and we found one with same surname. Now we have to try and call this person. However, in these days we got to see Stockholm. The old town is an amazing place. It is quite small, but really cozy. Also we got to see the most important things in Stockholm - Vasa museum, boat trip between islands, Drottningholm Palace, Skanse, Grönalund, Old Town, Castles, Parliament, Government etc. The rest of time we have visited another cities in Sweden - Katrineholm, Vingåker, Örebro, Nora, Lindesberg, Eskilstuna, Strängnäs etc. We have seen many churches, castles, old towns etc. The time went really quickly and it was time for Chris’ parents to leave Sweden, but this country left unforgettable memories and experiences for everyone.

Now is time for us also to move on. Our trip to Iceland is booked and we are leaving tomorrow for new adventure.

We wish to help people to travel the world as it is an amazing place with so much to see and do, travelling is easy once you make the decision to go. The hardest part for most making the decision to book that ticket but that is the beginning for life changing... full info
