Flight to Biarritz

Short history about the route and me

So, a little more information about the two agents in this adventure, the Camino de Santiago, and me. The Camino is essentially the way to the city Santiago de Compostela, and more precisely to the Cathedral in Santiago. It is an old (I've heard something around 1000 years old) pilgrimmage route with a number of different main paths, one of which is called the "French Way", "Camino Frances". In these modern times, people commonly start in a village called Saint Jean Pied de Port and walk all the way through, among other places, Pamplona, Burgos and Logroño, Léon and Astorga. This walk is approximately 800km long, and a couple a months ago, I decided to cover it by unicycle, which is what I will do during three weeks in the end of June.

Me myself, I am an 19 year old Swedish student. I just finished what is called the Swedish Gymnasium in the central part of Sweden. This is a hilly place (really, the name means "the hills", isn't it picturesque like in the Lord of the Rings?) with forests one lake a third of the size of Hong Kong. A couple of years ago, a couple of twin friends of mine inspired me to begin unicycling. I finally made it and I got at 24" size unicycle for my (I think 17th birthday). I was trapped for a while, then I lost it. A while ago, I caught up with it again and started to enjoy it a lot more. The plan when I had finished school was to go for a road-trip with a friend of mine. This didn't work out as it should, for different reasons. I asked another friend, but it wasn't good timing for her either. So i essentially wanted to "go somewhere", and "do something", and win half a shake, I had decided to travel the Camino Frances by unicycle.

In almost precisely a week, I expect myself to be enjoying a nice dinner in Saint-Jean Pied de Port, hopefully with at a very friendly hostel recommended to me by a friend.
