01 October 2016 Another day and another Royal Palace. At Aranjuez in the 18
th century the Bourbon monarchs set up a Spring and Autumn retreat surrounded by extensive gardens which they hoped would rival Versailles.
Wendy woke up not feeling well so I went into town to investigate train and bus availability for our planned trip into Madrid. On the way to the station I passed the impressive palace and then went to the covered food market to buy fish and cheese and have my lunch.
On my return, Wendy was feeling better so in the afternoon we went for a walk along the river and then around the attractive Jardin de Principe.
