Fireworks on the beach to celebrate the last night of Carnival.
I can´t believe I´ve only been here for two weeks, it seems like I´ve been here for months already! I have already adjusted and learned so much this first two weeks, its crazy! I'm sure a lot of you guys are wondering what life in Spain, and especially in Málaga, is like..and if you aren't then bare with me because I'm going to tell you anyway! I love life in Málaga. I don't know if its the sun, or the beach or what but everything is very laid back here. I have learned that it is important to be on time for everything, but at the same time never to rush. Everything really flows together here. Maybe its all the siestas, I don't know!
This past week was our first week of classes. ISA's offers three programs in Málaga during the winter. I'm in Winter 2, which is an intermediate language and culture semester. Winter 2 and Winter 3 get to take electives starting a week from monday. The difference is that Winter 3 has lanuage classes for these first two weeks for five hours everyday, and then they are done when electives start. My group has language for

two hours every day until the end of April. This being said, my school day has been done everyday at 10 am! Usually Carly and I, and the rest of the W2 students head to the ISA office after class and use the computers and Wi-Fi (pronounced wee-fee in Spain). We tend to go shopping a lot as well because ISA is right off Calle Larios. Then we return home around 2 and have a HUGE lunch. Lunch is usually soup and bread, then the main dish, usually meat and something else, and then sometimes fruit also. Lunch here is so big and filling you can't help but feel tired afterward. After our siestas we usually go into town with friends or go down to the beach for a bit. Then its a small dinner, shower and bed, because we have to get up at 6 each morning.
Weekends here are a bit different because everyone goes out at night. And by going out I mean like meeting up at 11 or midnight to go to the bars and discotecas. We went out for a bit last weekend, but had a hard time finding a club we really liked.

The one club we did find, we were like the youngest ones there by like five or ten years! Nobody workers harder or parties harder than the people in Spain!
A lot of our free time we spend at the beach as well. For Carly and I, its about a 3 minute walk to the beach. Its a great place to meet up with friends or just enjoy the sun. Its a little too cold to go swimming yet tho. Today we headed east along the beach, away from the center of the city. This was only our second time walking this way because school and everything else is the other way. We walked for about an hour or so just watching the waves crash on the rocks. After a while we found this little board walk area, and there were people every where! Tons of restaurants crowded along the Med. It was the coolest place I think I've seen so far. It was far away from the busy city life, and was just indescribable. We found a spot on a bench to watch a group of guys play volleyball on the beach and to just people watch for

a bit.
This week we have class Monday thru Friday, then we are hopefully going to go to a nearby town and go explore some caves Friday afternoon! I will definitely write more soon and post pictures of this trip!
