summer storm

Today, I hired some contractors to do some work on the old house, and on the way there we were surprised by a wicked thunder storm.
I could not believe the volume of the rain coming down. It was hailing for good 10-15 minutes.
The level of water on the streets rose past the sidewalks and streets turned into rivers...
There was almost a foot of water accumulated due to heavy rain as it was flowing down the hills.

It was a strange thing to see. Most of the traffic halted and people just sat in their cars waiting for the rain to stop.
We battled the streets and managed to make it to the house around stopped cars, buses and trolleys.

30 minutes later it was a bit cooler, but the sun returned and the life returned to the streets...
