Irkutsk (pronounced "i'm-not-even-going-to-try") is the largest city in Siberia. It's coat of arms is a panther holding a dead weasel with the inscription "Because We Can". It is the center of trade in Siberia due to its connection to Transib. After spending an afternoon here, I've realized why Ghengis Khan's two favorite forms of punishment were death and exile to Siberia. Irkutsk is hot, humid, and mosquito-ridden during the summer and freezing during the winter.
Great place.
