The day started with lightning. Not so many pics. today- for good reason. We nade a tour of Moscow's notable metro stations and we have heard that to take pictures here is prohibited, and would incur a fine or worse, so we didn't risk it.
We also visited one of Gorky's houses( he was a famous Muscovite writer) where we saw a fine collection of antique Chinese carvings, of which he was found, as well as pictures including one of the man with one J. Stalin.- wearing felt slippers to preserve the place.
We also managed to fit in more wanderings in central Moscow as well , before high tailing it to Iaroslavskaia train station for our train to Ulan- Bator. This last day reminded me that smell of Moscow , for me, will always be the
smell of fresh bread on the underground walkways and, above ground, the smell of shashliki ( Shish kebabs- a Russian speciality ) cooking.
