Rain and Fog and Wine

Day 3 - Quinta Nova Winery Hotel. Douro Valley

We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of vineyards just starting to leaf out and it is raining and foggy this morning. We have been told that this region has 9 months of rain and 3 months of HELL, hot hot weather in the summer. It allows for perfect grape growing. We have been invited in a tour of the winery in about 45 minutes with the French family that are also staying here, grandparents, son-in-law and daughter, and two children, a toddler and an infant in a stroller. Brave folks to travel with kids. But they seem to be making it work.
