After the busy few days around Lisbon, it was time for a lay in. Neither of us surfaced until midday by which time the Wimbledon final coverage had almost started. We grabbed some lunch before watching the match along with Sarah and Duncan. After this we wanted to head to the beach, the sea was warm and the sun was out: perfect. Back to the house for dinner and then me and Alex were left on our own as Sarah and Duncan left to babysit. We took the chance to watch some comedy followed by the Godfather part 2.
Monday and our last day with the Snows. Another pretty relaxed day: more lay ins and the last Godfather film and packing ready to move base to my godparent’s house. First, off to the airport to meet Simon who was flying out from England and also staying with the Holman's. However, he never showed and we later found out he hadn't even checked in at Gatwick. After this setback, we drove off into the sunset towards the Trevor and Frances' house and a great English meal: Sheppards pie followed by steam syrup sponge. A nice dip in the pool to cool
off before bed.
After unpacking properly and settling in, we got to sunbathing and swimming in the pool after our days relaxing watching films and TV. In the afternoon we took the short trip to Villamoura to see how the other half live and check out the boats. Not any of the big yachts in but it was still nice to have a wander round and soak up the atmosphere. Back to the house in time to see first world cup semi, we may be abroad but this is no reason to forgo watching the football.
Another relaxing day on Wednesday, we are on holiday after all. Lots of lounging by the pool and reading with the occasional dip in the water to cool down. Later, in the afternoon, me and Alex went inside to continue our gaming series on Rome: Total war, a strategy game we were playing over the local area network. We caught a ride with into Faro with Trevor and had a few hours wandering around the shopping mall, having a McDonalds and sale shopping. Back in time for tea and the second half of the Spain game and talking of Spain, that's where

Peanut M&Ms in my McFlurry, not impressed. we were off to in the morning.
Not a mega early start but the earliest we had got up since arriving at the Holman's. The trip from their house to the border only took half an hour and from here we drove to a small border town by the sea. We had a quick look around before having lunch and heading back to Portugal. Not the most exciting visit to another country but at least Alex can say he has been to 2 places abroad. Some more relaxing through the heat of the day before another trip to the beach, this time to Fuseta via the little ferry boat. The sea was very warm and much clearer than last week and there were some decent waves, which is always fun. Off for a meal later as it was the last time it would just be the 4 of us at the house, lots of arrivals tomorrow for the party.
