From Albufera just a 5 euro bus ticket to Lagos. I left on Friday AM, a trip planned Thursday evening as the landlord informed me Thursday PM there would be no water for 1 day. (maybe 2).
There were not many cheap last minute bookings so....In Lagos I stayed at a hostel which was very clean and I had a shared bath that was actually private as there were 5 bathrooms and only 4 people staying. Its off season and town was not crowded at all.
The bus terminal was directly across from the marina a key place t visit and only a 10 minute walk through old town to my hostel.
Most boat tours of the cliffs and rocky coast and caves were shutting down. I decided not to take a boat tour but reserve it as an experience if I should get visitors.
Instead I took a hike to Ponta de Piedades where you can see most of what is seen in the boat tours but from the top of the cliffs.
I will return to Lagos and spend more time going further West to Sagres and Salema when have time.
From Lagos I went to Portimao by bus, a former large fishing port-just a city now on the river and Rock Beach to the south ; Praia de Rocha.
I wish I had spent more time in Lagos rather than going to Praia de Rocha which is highly commercialized and a noisy all night party combination carnival food heaven and mini-Las Vegas complete with discos and a casino
