Getting to the net in Poland has been a royal pain and hence theres been no update for a while. I hope to make up for it now. I'm taking a different approach and just putting up a heap of photos. People call this place the Venice of the east. It's a pretty special place. But there's something else in this photo, something small... Look carefully...

There's dwarves all over the city! There's about 50 of them, all different, all have a name, and all are so small you'd easily miss them. This one is eating a pierog...

This has to be the most striking memorial i've ever come across. It's a memorial to 40,000+ Polish army officers who were murdered by the Soviets. The woman sitting on the ground is Mother Poland, in her lap she cradles the head of an officer who has been shot in the back of the head. Above them stands the Angel of Death.
