Friday

Our last full day, and we were to spend some of it looking around Szczecin and doing a little shopping.
We had to wait until 11:30 before Casia was free to show us around, but as we were all getting tired by this time, it wasn't much of a problem to be relaxing a bit.

We walked into the center, and first to the cathedral, which we all took the lift up to the top. There we had great views around the city.

After that to the castle, which didn't look much like an English castle. Then we walked towards the shopping centre. On the way we stop at a memorial to some of those killed in the Solidarity coup.

Then to shopping place for lunch. We all went for McDonalds which proved tricky getting 11 orders, translated and all things together. It took three goes, and we'd never have made it without Casia.

Then we went looking for things to buy, and found a big superstore which sold everything - including car tyres.

Then on the tram back to get ready for the evening. Henricks church were coming over to the hostel for a service and a meal.

They brought food and sang some songs. Then it was our turn, with the children doing two action songs, and then the rest of us doing a couple of our ones from the week.

Then one of the best meals of the week. Then some goodbyes, and packing. We planned an early night, and Stuart indeed did, the rest of us got into conversation. Discussing what the "Church of John" might look like. Eventually we went to bed to be ready for a 5am start.
