Day 8..race day

Okay lets talk about 2moro instead of toady eh.
Executive summary would go like this:
Had nice breakfast
Trained well
Had nice lunch
Started race at 5.50pm..better luck 2moro
Had nice dinner and beer to commiserate with.
Race day was back in Olsztyn so I travelled in with some other kiwis who had some errands to run...bit boring bit nothing else to do. 2 of us wanted coffee and as the conisewer I suggested Gazeta..ran out of time tho so tried our luck at hypermarket pub. I took one sip and left mine.
Race event area was a uni grounds as this was a sprint around a urban area..complete with live pedestrians going about there biz and bikers going all directions as there were 5 courses underway at once. It was essentially blatting around buildings on seal with some steps and paths in the way. I came second last..mucked up 2 controls so lost about 5min and 10 places I guess. It was my first sprint and first time on an urban map which differs markedly from forest maps. Still..no excuses. One of the kiwis who it was thought had a good chance of a top 10 used 5 year old tyres and punctured at control 2 of about 20...he ran the rest and actually finished faster than another of teh elite team who rode! Another came 5th and one dnf as she miss punched.
Caught train back as others were eating out. It was a freebie as just as my turn came for ticket with 3 mins left till train left they shut the counter flap. U cant buy on train I found out !
2moros race is 2.5kmsw from here at about 5pm.
