Den Bosch is the capital city of Brabant, located in Southern Netherlands. From The Hague, it is 1 hour and 15-minutes train ride. You get off at Utrecht central station and change train in going to Den Bosch.
Train expenses from the Hague: € 32,60 for a two-way ticket.
Tip: The Dutch train company offers a half the price once in a while. If you are a tourist staying in Holland, check out this website from time to time:
http://www.spoordeelwinkel.nl/home . This is only in Dutch language. You can order tickets on-line but you can only pay on-line with with a local bank pass. Just find somebody to translate it for you in order to order and to pay. If you want to minimize your expenses, it is worth the trouble.
City walk without paying any euro

Outside the train station going to the city centre is a tall
dragon fountain (
Drakenfontein), the city's guardian. Moving straight ahead is a bakery owned by the famous Bossche bollen baker Jan de Groot.
Bossche bol is a cream puffed pastry filled with whipped cream and dark chocolate coating. It goes togetehr with a cup of coffee.
Tip: Don't leave the city without tasting this delicious pastry. Before reaching the old fortress walls do admire the facade of the Dutch houses you pass by.
Upon reaching the Oude binnenhaven, turn right to go to a street called
Lepelstraat. Here there are restaurants where you can sit outside. You also find a
Maria tussen de tonnekes, a small Mary chapel in-between the terraces. Under the bridge there is a statue of
Zoete lieve Gerritje, a farmer's daughter. Opposite the statue is
Binnendieze, one of the canals where you can ride a tourist boat. There is also the statue of
Halve Peer. Go straight ahead to admire
Brug Uilenburgstraatje, a nice bridge with canal. Nearby is the
schuilkerkpooortje, a hidden church gate. A few meters ahead, you can go donwstairs to take a closer look at the canals. Walk to the other bridge to see bicycle with a ladder made of concrete. This symbolizes the bikes which were taken out of the canals all throughout the years.
To the right is
Marieënburgklooster, a monastery. Within the vicinity is an image of Jesus in a crucifix.
Go back to the other bridge turn right in the direction of street
Laamstraat. At the end of the street, you will find a house with
facade of Gallic warlords called Ambrioxis (left) and Vercincetourix (right). They fought against Julius Caesar.
Cross the street and turn right to Snellestraat, another street. Turn right to Minderbroederstraatje, another street which leads you to the
Markt, city square. You will find the
stadhuis (town hall). Walk further to admire the statue of Jeroen Bosch, a Dutch painter. Nearby is the
Moriaan, the oldest brick house in the city which nowadays houses the VVV tourist information office. Walk back and go to the direction of Kerkstraat street. You will see a protestant church to your left and walking further you reach
Sint Jans kathedraal (catherdal). This is an impressive gothic style catholic church with a museum next to it. It reminds me a bit of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. Next to the church is
Parade square where you can sit, relax and enjoy food in the restaurants.
