We went to a place called Madurodam by Irenes house. It has all of Hollands famous buildings and architectural feats in minature. There was a little wooden shoe factory that if you put in a Euro a little truck would drive out of the factory and deliver a tiny pair of ceramic shoes to you. Also, did you know that Mars Bars are made in Holland? They had a mini chocolate factory and for 10cents a delivery truck would bring you a mini mars bar. We spent over 2hrs here, much longer than we intented, but it was so much fun! By that time the Peace Palace, where the international court is, was closed. So we drove by it instead. We walked around town and saw the government buildings. But it started to pour so we took shelter in a cafe. We were introduced to a Dutch snack that translates to "Bitter Balls". They are like little croquettes with meat and you dip them in mustard. They were delicious regardless of the silly name! We then headed to Sanders house (Irenes boyfriend). We met Hummel (Irenes rabbit that acts like a dog). Irene and Saunder made us a delicious Dutch dish for dinner. It was a sort of mash potato with veg and you eat it with sausages and bacon. We had forgotten what real food taste like for a while, so all these home made dinners were a treat! Sander owned the first season of Lost and we'd heard lots about the show. Sander was going on about how it is his second favorite show (the first being desparte housewives of course!) Apparently everyone gets addicted to it...so of course we had to watch it. We were only going to watch the first episode...then the second...then the third...then we took the box set back to Irenes house.... 😊

Hey, so about this Mini Holland. Was it as big as Europe in Miniature? Did they have the cube houses? What about windmills? I cant believe you guys watched that many episodes of Lost.... no wait, I can... It is as addicting as DOG "THE BOUNTY HUNTER" :D Cheers, Cathy P.S I(L)U!!! COME HOME SAFELY SOON!!!
