16 hours on a bus, final destination: Amsterdam We once again decided to do a bus trip, with the same company, but this time it was for the May long weekend. So, once again, we went to Victoria bus station and wait in the cold air - but not as cold as last time because it was May. The trip was rather long - we had to drive from London to Dover (to catch the ferry to Calais) and wait for the fer... Read Full Entry

When this opened it started sinking because they had based the amount of weight it could hold on Asian people - however Dutch people are on average the tallest in the world, making them heavier.

In Amsterdam they have buses, cars, bikes, trams - when crossing the road you really need your wits about you!

WHAT!!
Dear Paul and Emma, I really would be uncomfortable with walking past the outdoor pee troughs!! Urk. Did they smell?? I love the weeping willow on the edge of the canal. Was a great idea to make the Anne Frank house into a museum. It gives me the creeps what humans do to each other. Goodness you have it freezing over there. Brrrrrr. love you both, mumxxoo

Gorgeous Colours
They were beautiful, and the clogs were too big for me - I asked for a smaller size but they were sold out. Paul

WHAT!!
Yes the pee trough smelled like pee - oddly enough. I have seen a few in London, but not as many as Amsterdam. You would like the museum, it was sad but not 'make you cry' sad - I didn't think.

This is a lovely blog, with nice photos, the pee pots must be used often enough or the local authorities wouldn't have installed them...but what is available for the female population? We saw wonderful tulip beds all enmassed when we visited floriade at Canberra, so i can imagine the beautiful effect they make. It's grand that you are seeing such a lot, where is the location of the next blog? Cheerio for now, lots of love Marnie.xxxx

Hey Marnie I was going to say "Unfortunately there is no outside option for females" but then I thought a little more and there is no way that I would be using anything like it, so it's not really unfortunate at all! You'll be happy to know that Paul has started on the next backblog, and the destination is...Paris! Oh lala! Love Em
