It was so hot in Chisinau, 30 plus degrees, we had to get out of the city, as Moldova is landlocked and we could not go to the Black sea because I only had a single entry visa it meant there was one option but to go to "Vadu- lui -Voda
Vadu-lui-Voda, situated on the right bank of the Dniester River, is a great place for us city dwellers to get away from it all and pretend we are the seaside it is a splendid place for pitching camp and having a wonderful time at weekends. This is a place where you can breathe a fresh smell from the forests that surround and defend it like soldiers. This small part of the Moldovan land is beautiful and picturesque.
We caught a маршрутное такси" 130 there, the Journey was a short one about 1 hour.
After arriving we find a café and had breakfast, we then set about finding a room for the night, we walked into the forest and we found a decent room in a complex, it was basic i.e no TV or bathroom but it was clean and cheap $10 a night.
We left our bags, got our swimming
stuff together and then made our to the beach, we found a suitable spot.
Marina was first in the River, I followed her reluntant at first as the water was cool, but it was fine once you started swimming around.
We spent the afternoon sitting on the beach, we was both reading “Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown ( yes he of Divini Code fame) I don’t usually read books like this but I had become hooked and it is a book that is very hard to put down.
We had dinner in a nice restaurant and then headed back to the room, we both had an afternoon nap as we were both tired from the sun and swimming.
I woke up in the early evening to the smell of barbeques, it was then that I realised that I was sunburnt, I was like a lobster..Shit..I did say before we went on the beach to buy so some sun lotion but we never. The Sun did not seem that hot, lucky I kept my head covered.
I decided to take a shower, I had to walk down to 2 flight of stairs, then exit the building and then walk 50
yards to shower room, I turned it on and out came freezing cold water..shit....
After my 3 second shower, we got dressed and we had a very nice stroll in the forest and as it got dark we went to find a nice restaurent.
Vadu-lui-Voda has lots of restaurents, bars and a few discos, I told Marina “tonight we was dancing until 4am”
After checking a few places we settle on a Jamaca Restaurent, the service was slow, I order Tomato soup and I got soup with chilli beans, potatoes and meat. I eat some and Marina ate the rest she loved it. I was saving myself for the mean meal. I drank 3 cold nice cold beers while I was waiting for the main course but it was very dispointing..the meat was very fatty. I ate very little of it. We walked for a little awhile after the meal, I started to feel cold and I borrowed a sweater from Marina, I think I had sun stroke. We walked into the Dark forest towards our accomadation, its lucky Marina has a good sense of direction cos I need not have a bloody clue where our house was.
As I
lay in the bed moaning about how sore my skin felt, Marina said to “Hey Krissy I thought you was partying until 4am?
The next day we had breakfast in the same place and caught the Mini bus back home..
Bye Bye Vadu- lui -Voda
Fun in the sunCome on Marina it must my turn to read the book now..Please....pretty please

Send Private MessagePartying until 4pm??? I hope you meant to say 4am or you are more of a lightweight than I already had you down for!! Maybe it was the 3 beers that you drank, that is 2 more than you can normally handle.
Nice of you to take your 6 month pregnant wife partying though!!
