Nida, Keeping with the nature of our group, we happened to discover that some guys were thinking it would be cool to spend a weekend on the split as a kind of ‘farewell’ bonding event. Once the news broke, everybody piled on and it turned into a guy’s trip to the outer edge of Lithuania. Why is it that we always seem to plan these things at the END of the semester? Well, besides the fact that it was below freezing when we got here, it may have made for a better time if we had snuck off as a group early on. I have copied some information from the program website so as to place the entries into somewhat of a timeline and to give some background info on the program. LCC LCC (Lithuania Christian College) is a nationally and internationally recognized liberal arts university. Established in 1991, LCC has distinguished itself in the region by offering a unique, future-oriented style of education and an interactive academic environment. LCC is based in Klaipeda (Lithuania), a major icefree port city on the Baltic Sea connecting Russian and Western European business and industry. So it happened again - events and things happened quickly and the blog suffered. The blog ceased to exist - so here I am writing about 5 weeks after the events (again). Vilnius lies in the mainly flat and forested countryside of Lithunia, situated close to the Russian border in the South-East of the country. Founded in the 1320's by Duke Gediminas after a dream the city has lots of historic buildings, and statues. The old town is bigger than that found in either Tallin or Riga, and has a more open rambling feel than either of the other two baltic capitals, but has narrow streeted ghettos and archways in aboundance.
