25 October 2012 Many of the group made their own way home from Bologna. So after a series of goodbyes, five of us left for Milan, arriving at lunchtime.
In the afternoon we went into the city centre for a couple of hours.
Milan’s Duomo is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. It’s built from local marble, is covered with a multitude of statues and has many spires both large and small. We went inside, walked around outside and took a closer look at the fantastic detail by taking a walk around the roof.
The rest of our time in this impressive city centre was spent walking through the opulent 19
th Century Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping centre to look at the world famous La Scala opera house.
Our last day with the group was rounded off by six of us having a meal in the camp site restaurant.
