It was wet most of the day but we managed to grab a short break in the weather for a quick visit to Parma of ham and cheese fame. The building that particularly impressed us was the pink marble 13th century octagonal Baptistry.
Over 30 years ago some friends of ours, Phil and Di, had lived in the village of Sirmione situated at the end of a peninsular on the south shore of Garda, one of the Italian lakes. They had suggested we visit what they consider to be a beautiful spot. As it was on our route we headed there and were able to stop on the car park just outside Sirmione. Unfortunately as it was pouring with rain we couldn’t see any of the view.
