A few kilometres outside Alba is the hilltop wine producing village of Barbaresco which is surrounded by its vineyards and dominated by a 30m high tower. We visited there, climbed the tower and bought a bottle of the local produce.
Then, after a little navigational difficulty, we drove about 150k through vineyard covered hills, along the Scriva valley and finally climbed into the mountains again to stay at a picturesque camperstop in the bustling small town of Torriglier at an altitude 769m.
