in Piazza San Marco Well, I can say this is one of the Worlds favorite European Cities, Venezia in Italia, Venice in the English World and Venedig by the Germans. First my tips Travelling in European Countries is Budget, budget, budget. Here you spend € (euro), and Its not cheap to Travel in Europe, Especially in well known City like Venice. Specially now in Summertime, it's Traffic, maybe no Parking area and if you find one it's too Expensive, and the Accomodation also. So what i did is to stay on a City outside the area of Venice, or the nearby City, and here, its Treviso, it's all cheaper than Venice, and it's 20min. away. we drove a Train to Venice which i think it cost ( i am not quiet sure) ,about 8€ to the Station of Venice. Arriving in Venice , i then realize how good we are about this decision to ride a Train, from the Train i can see the Heavy Traffic. Going out of the Station i can see Hundreds of Tourist and many Americans are also visiting Venice. I even did not Imagine so many Tourist in one small place like Venice. On the right side of the Station is
a Barock Church whis is Beautifully decorated and made of Marmor. Venice is a Crowded place, mostly in Summer, People who are living here is very stressed, when you go outside to buy something you have to fix yourself because a lot of Venetians are Romantic Fashionable, and People from all over the World will be staring at you, the Ferries are the most used Transportation to go around Venice, and when i was here it;s really Shoulder to Shoulder inside the Ferry and extremely Hot, and the Venetian was most of the time disappointed of this Situation, and i can understand that, sometimes they can't even ride a Ferry coz it's overloaded, Imagine that you even can't come home becuse the Ferry was so full of Tourist even Italians from other part of Italy. From the Train staion you need to buy a Ferry Ticket, but first you have to be Patient co'z the line is long on Ticket Machine or in a Booth., You have to choose, a oneway, next station or back & fort or a wholeday Ticket. A trip on the water of Venice is nice , the View is Magnificent, I saw 2 Big Cruise Ships
Piazza San Marco
Your Journey starts here ,bigger than the Dom of the Cathedrals and Yacht's so big like Cathedral. It's Crazy, Some people said the Water or the Canal's Stinkts or Smell Bad, but through my own Experience it's not. Arriving Venice "PIAZZA SAN MARCO ", was Breathtaking, Fabulous Architectures of Ancient Times, and it gives you a feeling of Fantasy and Romance in the Air. Your Journey will start here, have your Cameras ready and be busy to do your shots on all of those beautiful Buildings around you and the Structures, it is also crowded, specially here in Piazza San Marco, but make the best out of it,do your thing and enjoy Venice. The Landmark is the " BASILICA DE SAN MARCO - CAMPANILLE ",that is the Orange square Tower with a Clock on it Triangular shape Roof, i dont know how much the Entrance to go in but really without the long lines of People who all wants to go in, i would love to see the Basilica in the inside. The best Landmark of Venice for me & my Favorite is ofcourse, " BASILICA DI SAN MARCO ", here i have to see the inside of the Basilica, so i must be patient
Small Bridges
all over the Canals to fall in a long line of people and wait, it was breathtaking,to go in the Basilica, to go on the Deck or Balcony of the Basilica you have to pay Entrance fee. Now it's Time to have a walk on those small Passages,or small Streets with Restaurants & Souvenir Shops, I feel like i am walking in a Labyrinth with those all Glamourous Venetian Masks, and they are really Affordable. Walking here and those Lovely small Stair Bridges, not to mention those Extravagant Beautiful "Gondola's" passing by the Canals with Singing Gondolleros are Entertainig for the Sights & Sounds of Veniceand for Smell, i did Try a Venetian Margherita Pizza with Lots of Garlic and i thought wow the whole Land smells my Pizza. Dont forget to search for the Historical part of the Canal, the " Ponti Dei Sospiri " ( Bridge Of Sighs), and ofcourse here will be a beautful background for your Photographs. Well ! I did not experience Gondola ride co'z i am on a budget ,but as i can remeber. in the Daytime it's 80€ for 40 min. additional 20 min. add more 40€, in the night time till Morning at 7 am, it's
Gondel
Typical Venetian a 100€ and add 50€ for extra 20 min. . One of the Famous Bridge of Venice is the "Realto Bridge " , the Time iwas here is the Bridge full of People, I dont know they just stand there the whole day but many were taking Pictures also, but i would Love to be alone in Realto Bridge on my Picture but i think it wil be Mission Impossible. LOL
A Beautiful Extraordinary Highfashion Shop a must see is the "Fiorella Gallery Shop", at Campo Santo Stefano," I adore this Shop very Creative and a work of Art...
A Weekend Trip to Venice will be more than enough, A City that you'll have To see that will fullfill a part of living in this Beautiful World of ours..
