Rome & Florence

Day 4 - Day 7

Off to the airport at 4.30am for our flight to Rome via London.

After 20hrs we finally arrived in Rome and enjoyed homemade pasta at a little local restaurant recommended by the man that checked us in. It was the best pasta I have ever tried and was supposed to share with John but oh well I finished it all.

we joined our tour group today there are 43 people on the tour. Today we visited the vatican museum, Sistene chapel, St Peters Cathedral. Luckily we did not have to line up as others were there since 6.30am. We visited the colloseum and climbed the stairs to go inside . Then after dinner we went to the Trevi fountain to through our coin and make a wish.

Off to Florence we stopped in at the little village of Sienna, it was made up of cobblestone streets just like you would imagine a 1000 year old city would be. We enjoyed some shopping in Florence.

Today we went to see the leaning tower of Pisa we all got the photos done holding up the tower. Then back into Florence to do a walking tour around the old town and a great lunch made up of platters of all the best italain delicacies. Tonight we are off to a medieval banquet. Tomorrow we go onto Venice.

EATING, EATING, EATING
Hi John and Vic, Well you sound as though you are certainly doing a great amount of eating and the food looks terrific. This blog brings me back many happy memories of Rome and the Vatican etc. Was very hot when I was there and it looks as though it still is with you both in your Summer gear. I am really enjoying all your photos and comments. This is a lovely way to relive some happy memories. All going well here. Nothing much exciting happening. Trying to get my staff appraisals done - doh!!! Keep up the blogs. Still missing you. Bevie x x x x x x

hey guys, looks like your having heaps of fun, food and whatever you do in Rome, or is that Paris, ohh you know what I mean. If you go for a gondola ride John can you throw a line and see what sort of fish they get, only joking, sort of. John we have to do something about that manly figure you cut in that singlet when you get back. Keep the blogs coming
