We leave Campania for the realms of Basilicata resplendent with ancient 'sassi' cities (meaning stone) located on hill tops in the mountains. This was our first snow experience and the air is certainly crisp! Thank heavens for thermals!

It certainly is amazing. The countryside on the way here from Eboli was quite bare with only a few olive groves and a number of power plants - then there started to appear the old cities built on the hill tops. It is hard to explore and see everything! - a very large city
