THE FIVE AUNTIES, MALI, COLIN, RACHELLE, SARA AND EROS
Hello to everyone down under, this is a very short hello as I am on a time frame and I know you want some photos as well! Its been virtually impossible to find the time and a computer with internet on it to do the regular blogs I was hoping to do this trip. Five weeks on the road with another two weeks to go.
WE spent 10 days in lovely Era, Italy. Colin's family truly took us under their wing, I believe the most hospitable people I have ever meet. Side by side with Helena and Kara we tackled and weaved the many different request and invitation that were proposed and sometimes demanded on us. Up and down mountains, and up and down and around mountains, left me both sick physically and wanting the flat red arid desert of Australia. I have come to the realistation that I'm just not a mountain girl.
FROM Era we travelled by train to Milan and then bus north-east across to Treiste, on the border of Italy and Slovenia. It was a wing it type of idea that actually paid off. It was an amazing town full of so much history, beauty

and energy. Travelled down the coast of Croatia stopping in PULA (claim to fame, look a like coluseum: amazing), SENJ (the up and down hills that gave us a good workout with pram and the fight for your right to get a piece of rock beach with 50,000 other tourists: beatiful views), ZADAR (heaps of old stuff, as Curtis would say with a side trip to the best national park in Europe, Pilvica Lakes), SPLIT and DUBROVONIK. A flight back to Rome, a bus to Sulmona, south-east of Rome, and here we are, right now, me drinking my fizzy water that Colin hates with a passion. We are off to Sorrento for five days, and then Rome for three days, with the big final stage in Dubai for three nights. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Its been very cool so far, have eaten lots of gelato, pizza, cheese and coffee. Colin has of course been in food heaven and I eat anything. Mali has been the best, he has been adored everywhere we go. Mali, buses and pringles go well together. Ciao ciao.
