The morning was spent taking an amusing and informative guided tour around the attractive and historic harbour town of Kinsale.

Then it was on to Ireland’s second city Cork where we were lucky enough to find a parking space right in the centre on St Patrick’s Street and spent an entertaining hour with the Saturday afternoon shoppers. Throughout the trip we had hoped to have the opportunity to listen to some traditional music and this wish was fulfilled by an excellent group giving a concert on a temporary stage.

In the early evening we visited Blarney Castle and Gardens and took the opportunity to kiss the stone which turned out to be above a 26 m drop.

We stayed just outside the village of Blarney.
