So we get up nice and early have a shower then brekkie and then a nice leisurely walk around the lake which was really peaceful and really lovely if you ever get to Fivemiletown and in a camper/motorhome/tent it is a fabulous place to stay.
Well the night before Princess Paula decides that after looking for places to stay using numerous apps that Healy’s Bar which has a beer garden that you can park in overnight looks amazing and all the reviews also show how brilliant it is and it seems like it is in a great location in Ballycastle - so that the plan Healy’s Bar it is.
Now if you have read my blogs previously I really love a map and hate using Sat Navs until the last minute - I find I learn about places doing this. So I expertly navigate (yes expertly navigate) us to Ballycastle going through Dungannon, Cookstown, to Ballymena, Ballymoney and finally to Ballycastle - think the Irish love a Bally.
So you would think I have everything covered as I got us to Ballycastle without a hiccup - well this is where the fun starts as I look for Healy’s Bar and could I find it it said it was down main street which we went down and back down and back but could we find Healy’s bar no way. So I had to use the Sat Nav. I input Healy’s Bar Ballycastle and it says 4hr 17mins in google maps. Noooooo this is wrong so I put Healy’s Bar BallyCastle into Maps and once again it comes up with 4hr 17 mins - so I shout at the Sat Nav on the phone and said my phone has a fault on it (remember I am a princess so I cannot be wrong). So we stop and put the same thing into Mike’s google maps Sat Nav and what comes up is exactly the same thing. Now I am puzzled. So I put Healy’s Bar Ballycastle into google and lo and behold there are 2 bleeding Ballycastle’s in Ireland and the one we were looking for is in County Mayo not County Antrim where we were now! So all my planning had gone wrong and if I had put it in the Sat Nav at the start of the journey I would have realised there is something wrong here it is taking us the wrong way. Anyway not to worry as County Mayo is on the Wild Atlantic Way and even if we have to deviate for a day we are going to have a night at Healy’s Bar in due course. (I was so looking forward to having a drop of the black stuff (Guinness to you non drinkers out there).
We found a campsite to stay tonight which if I am totally honest is just okay but it has fantastic views though so really cannot complain and we are nearer the Giants Causeway which I want to see early in the morning before all the crowds descend so not too bad I suppose
PS: Mike said if I had done that you would have gone ape shit - so I said no I would not it was an easy mistake to make knowing deep down he would have been dead, ha ha
