It's a Banshee...
okay it's me, and yes I'm sober. On my last blog I posted 72 pictures and then just quit because the computer annoyed me (plus, it's a lot of pics to look at). So, here are a few more and a list of the places I'd pay to stay at again. Actually, I'd pay to stay at all of them again, but these are extra special.
Donegal (up north. Just about everyone we talked to in Ireland ooohed and aaahed when we said we went to Donegal): Drumcorry House. The family is lovely, and their home is on their sheep farm. The bedrooms and bathrooms are roomy and comfortable. I didn't feel like a giant here. The town of Donegal is an adorable place as well. I wish we could've spent more time there. County Clare: Scariff (although my absolute favorite towns around Lough Derg are Killaloe and Ballina). Barley Cove Thatched Cottage. There's no way we won't one day come back here. The cottage is on a family farm, and you're treated like you belong there (and you won't want to leave come Check Out day). It's an easy drive from a lot of the other places you want to visit,
Lough Derg
this isn't an ocean bay, it's a lake. It's a large lake. There's a place called Holy Island on it that we wanted to see, but that will have to wait until next time. so it's also a great location. The next time we go, we will plan it so we are there when a nearby music festival is going on. It's also worth a week of your time just to hang out at the towns that surround Lough Derg. Glendalough (in Wicklow): The next time we go, we will book a few more days in this area. We spent our last night here, and while we had an awesome time, Kaylene was also ill (so we were all more concerned about getting her to a doctor than hiking the nearby hills). I loved our B&B. It had its issues though, which made for an uncomfortable stay for the three of us who had the room with no hot water (sometimes no water) issues. I wasn't one of those folk. The owner is funny and pretty much gave us the problem room for free. He also said this was something he thought the plumber fixed the day before. Breakfast is fantastic, and having the owner come talk to you and joke about marriage, drinking, family, whatever makes it even better. The B&B has a lovely backyard that includes an

we drove on a lot of roads like this. absolutely stunning. arched wooden bridge near a creek, which would be the perfect place to watch the sun set while drinking a bottle of wine. It's also an easy walk from a fun pub. Website: http://www.tudorlodgeireland.com/
Neither of the places we stayed at were expensive, and to be honest I don't think you can go wrong at any B&B in Ireland. The rooms might be small, but it seems there's an unwritten code that says guests must be made to feel welcome and breakfast must include farm-fresh orange-yolked eggs and warm Irish bread. Now, how can you go wrong with that?!
