Lucinda kitted out in the latest fashions
Hi, everyone, well at last the weather has turned and we have one day without rain. it's been sunny enough to get down to the beach, still windy, but blue skies above the surrounding mountains. Thanks for all your comments on the previous blogs. it's nice to know that you are appreciating the photos- Alison is the photographer extraordinaire. The past week, Lucinda has been attending the Splash Club in Dingle. it's a water safety club that takes the kids kayaking, swimming in wet suits, being towed into Dingle harbour in canoes etc. Lucinda has had a great time, and made a good friend. We also visited a working farm in Tralee. The farm has replica buildings of Ireland in the 1920s and old ways of cooking and farming as well. Ruby and I had a go at hand milking a shorthorn cow. We also went to the Dingle Show which was low key. A real agricultural show with lots of horses and dog competitions as well as irish dancing and a bonnie baby competition. Ruby had a great time today at the Seal Sanctuary where she saw the orphaned baby seals who have been rescued from nearby beaches. The past

few days we have hit the local beaches, not so much for swimming, but sight seeing and some walking. The coast line here is really dramatic with lots of rocky coves and a swell rushing into gorges and corridoors.
I've had a good week writing, attended a local writing workshop and last night went to a bilingual poetry reading where I read some of my poems. it was a strange night, as most people read their work in Irish and most people spoke in Irish, but with some English translations. However the language of poetry is universal and I was able to understand some of what they were saying.
Alison has been busy running the household.
