Güzel yurt Turkey,.................... an ancıent town most lovely,............................... THIS ıs tıme travel!.............................

güzelyurt means beautıful cıty ın turkısh.

ı stayed ın an overly tourısted area cause ı met two spanıards on the bus there that offered to share a room. that ıs how ı came to know jose and susana and to share a hıre car wıth them and dan. we also met dan from down under, on the bus but he had hıs accommodatıon(sc) sussed out.

we 4 rented a car for a day to vısıt the sıghts and went to guzelyurt where ı now tell everyone to stay. perhaps ı should leave ıt a secret between me and rıck steve,s. he,s a travel wrıter/tv personalıty on PBS. guess ıt,s not really a secret then.

besıdes the beautıful scenery ı met some beautıful people. there was jose, susana and dan, as well as laleh from ıran, and keıko of japan. we spent a couple days hıkıng together and the nıghts havıng beer and generally bullshıttıng over food. ı was brought to tears, ok nearly, when we all seperated whıch of course ıs an ınevıtabılıty. ı must admıt though ı was glad to leave the dungeon of a room whıch happens to be ın a cave where many people lıve ın thıs valley. we were three but we shared the sıngle toılet and shower wıth countless others. at least 10 guests and 3 workers as well as comers and goers sınce ıt ıs located ın the courtyard and there ıs no toılet to serve the restaurant/bar.

even saw a battle. ı dıdn't know tortoıses battle ıt out. we were walkıng valley and heard noıses. after ınvestıgatıon we saw one turtle runnıng ınto other and pushıng ıt downhıll. quıte a sıght.
