This is a last minute text that has been added to the original text I wrote for this entry. You will find below the original entry. During the night of the 12th of August, Janos, one of Mari's brother has been reunited with our Lord. He was around 45, in great health and suffered a heart attack during his sleep. Janos is leaving behind him a wonderful wife, and six children age three to fifteen.
I've been fortunate to spend few hours on the 2nd of August evening having a long discussion, one to one with Janos. He has always given all his life to others and God, and now his mission has abruptly stopped. He was due to leave for few years either in Bangladesh or Nepal to become a missionary with his family helping the poorer of the poor. He won't be able to fullfil this mission, but will be with us for ever.
Janos, I've been blessed to meet you, to share with you this wonderful discussion. I cry with all your family. May you rest in peace in Hejce with Andras. This entry is for you, for your family. I know how much love there
is around your wife and children, be sure my love is with you also.
This was the original message below, I won't change it as it was written before the 12th.
I know, in general I'm pretty up to date for my writtings. Not this time. We are now in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and I'm in front of my computer, ready to write about one of my last amazing experience I had few days ago meeting Ma'ri's family. Yes, I did not meet only her parents, I met the all family. If you want to sum it in few words, let's say it was a blessing and a true experience of love. Blessing and true experience of love, this is how you can speak about my new in-laws...well, not really as we are not married, but yes this is the feeling I have.
As you will see on the pics, not many family pictures. There is a simple reason for that. The family gather every year for three days. When I say the family, I speak of Mari's parents, her brothers an sisters, and few cousins. But nobody is taking much pictures, so I did the
same. I've always dreamed of having a great family. Well, I've got one, with my parents and my sister and her daughter...but I mean this time having the chance to meet the family of my love one...Ma'ri!
So no pics, not many details, you are going to ask me...why...what is going on...nothing, let's say Ma'ri has a big family. Just a small hint, she has around 40 nieces and nephews...and not all her siblings have kids!
So we arrived in Hejce late afternoon. First stop was for lunch...don't ask me the village name, at Lidi and Peter's place, Mari's youngest sister. What a pleasure and great lunch. They just moved in their new home with their gorgeous baby (Tiffany was in love!). A lot of work in front of them...a lot of work in the home already done...but another home of love!
Next stop after Miskolc, to meet Ma'ri godmother and godfather....another great stop. Did I tell you that most of Miskolc looks ugly. This is ok as the countryside is clearly another story. Don't know how to name it, but places like Hejce can simply be called "romantic".
We than arrived to Hejce, and for
me my first encounter with Ma'ri's parents...a shock, now, let's say they know how to care about their kids...and I'm the little last one in the family, arriving with...a lots of lugguages...but so much love in this welcome. I won't speak to you about my past, but I had very "interesting encounters" before...some of them I'd rather not had!
So, what's around Hejce...not a lot. Tokaji...oh yes, but we were too busy, we will visit the wine region next year...and I need to do my homeworks way before we get back there.
We visited a gorgeous castle few miles away, went to Kosice ( you know that already)...but the best part, was spent with the family.
My Mum has a lot of siblings, so I've got some experience, and I was ready for a big gathering. But I did not expected so much love, so much blessing. As you may guess by my wording. God is all over this place. I may be only a believer, this was an experience, and a good one!
We spent our time learning names..a lot...I mean for me, sharing experiences...playing chess...Leslie is a top guy now...did I wrote I'm proud
of him! Breakfast, lunch, diner, singing, praying...and a beautiful sky...most of the time...what an experience!
For next year, I will know more names ( don't get everybody yet)...we'll make sure we'll stop in the vineyards. Hope even more cousins will come. Mar'i being one of the youngest siblings, we were also pretty close to a lot of her nephews...and you know what...hungary, wine...countryside...can mean we go to sleep way later than in partying-shanghai...and with maybe way too much wine...
What would I change from this stay...nothing! Next year, you will have one more blog about Hejce, and I promise, the vineyards of Tokaji.
I'm a lucky guy, I've got great kids, a lovely girlfriend...and you know what, for once, I've met wonderful in-laws...this is great!
So we drove 5300km in 22 days in Europe...well, I did...and drove all of them! Next summer is already planned! This summer is not over. But at the time you read this, we already have a new place in Bangkok. The "maison du bonheur" in Bangkok will soon be ready to welcome you...
With love from all of us...and kisses from the lucky guy that I am! See you soon...

How sad.....
I have been waiting for this blog.......knowing you would meet up with Mari's family. Glad for you that you did. Family time is always to be cherished, more so now, after losing Janos. Your kids, more than you, needed this 'break' from your holiday. Though it is still a holiday, nothing beats feeling "connected".
