Tag 12 bis 16
ca. 4.000 km von Galway

Wir sitzen gerade in einem e-Cafe in der Altstadt von Sibiu (Hermannstadt) in Siebenbuergen in Rumaenien. Unsere naechste Station nach Dresden war jedoch erst einmal Brno (Bruenn) in der Tschechei. Auf einem netten Zeltplatz nahe der Stadt an einem See (Muecken!) gelegen hatten wir campiert. Am darauffolgenden Tag besichtigten wir die Innenstadt von Brno, welche sehr sehenswert ist. Viele barocke Gebaeude aus dem spaeten Mittelalter und sehr nette Leute. Auf dem Markt haben wir uns dann noch mit frischen Obst eingedeckt und sind weitergefahren.
Die Fahrt fuehrte uns durch Bratislava (Pressburg) die Hauptstadt der Slowakei. Recht schnell waren wir dann auch schon in Ungarn, wo wir dirkekt nach Budapest gefahren sind. Da haben wir dann die naechsten 3 Naechte auf einem netten kleinen Zeltplatz in der Stadt verbracht. Eine wirklich grosse und interessante Stadt. Wir haben versucht wirklich viel zu sehen. Hier nur eine Aufzaehlung der wichtigsten Dinge. Kirche St. Stephan, Bus-Stadtrundfahrt (zur besseren Uebersicht), Fischerbastei mit Seilbahn, Tropfsteinhoehle, Parlamentsgebaeude, Magaretheninsel, Kettenbruecke, etc.
Im Anschluss an die Stadt ging es dann weiter in die Puszta, den Ort Hortobagy. Mitten in Europa gibt es eine Steppe - die Puszta. Man lebt hier noch weitestgehend selbstversorgerisch. Verkauft die eigene Ernte auf kleinen Maerkten. Es gibt wilde Pferde und sehr romantische Bauernhoefe mit Ziehbrunnen davor. Und auf jedem Strommast ist ein Storchennest mit 3 Stoerchen drin - einfach wie im Bilderbuch.
Von hier ging es weiter nach Rumaenien, wo wir jetzt bestimmt noch 2-3 Tage sein werden. Davon berichten wir aber spaeter.

Day 12 to 16
ca. 4,000 km from Galway

We're right now in an internet cafe in the old town of Sibiu in the Saxon Land in Romania. After we left Germany we first stopped in Brno in the Czech Republic. We found a nice camp site near the city beside a lake (mosquitos!). The following day we visited the city which is quite impressiv with loads of baroque buildings from late medieval times plus we met very nice people there. At the market we stocked up on fresh fruits before we continued our journey.
Passing Bratislava the capital of Slovakia, we reached pretty soon Hungary, where we straight away went for Budapest. The next 3 nights we camped on a nice private campsite in the city. It's a

really big and interesting city. We tried to see as much as possible, here just some important things. St. Stephens Cathedral, Bus-Sightseeing (for a better overview), Fishermen Bastion by cable car, a stalactite cave, the parliaments building, Magarethes Island, Chain Bridge, etc.
After that we went on into the Puszta a place called Hortobagy. In the middle of Europe there is a steppe - the Puszta. The people here live mostly out of their own garden and sell their stuff at little markets. There are wild horses and romantic farms with draw wells in front. On every power pole there's a nest with 3 storches in it - simply out of a picture book.
From there we continued into Romania, where we will still be for another 2-3 days. More of that at a later stage.
