Due to her success on Part One...I've decided to bring her back for the second and final installment of "Mom in Europe". My mom was like an excited little kid on this trip, it was so fun to travel with her and I'm so glad she wrote all about it. And to start it off...walk, train, Paris, metro, bus, airplane, shuttle, Budapest! Days 8, 9, 10: Seeing as much of Budapest as time and Christmas holi... Read Full Entry

vicarious joy
I have loved reading your blog, Kaitlin and Jackie. What a wonderful time you had together. I have traveled along with you vicariously, and enjoyed reading both of your fabulous descriptions and seeing your terrific photos. Love, Candy

Looked just Zarvalous!
Hey, Kaitlin, it's the last day of January and I'm FINALLY looking at the photos of you and Jackie taking Paris, Strasbourg and Budapest by storm (and trains, planes and Metro). Gee, it looks almost as cold there as it's been here! Looks like there was quite a bit of snow in Paris from that photo of you in front of the Louvre. Budapest looks really different--more "eastern". It is so much fun to see you in your new native habitat, and your photos are just fantastic. You and your mom are intrepid, really covering a lot of ground in a short time; I'm impressed with your logistical abilities, and your mom says that your French is pretty darn good and you are navigating around avec beaucoup de suces. I liked reading about your cozy and delicious "food weekend" in the Belgian farmhouse...experiences like that can really change the way you approach such a vital part of life--the choosing and preparation of FOOD! Alice Waters started this way!! Anyway, have a wonderful month o' travel, say hi to Kari and enjoy more food...hope Spain is a little bit warmer for you.
