Back then, the Greeks had a special type of government. Unlike our democracy, where we have representatives because our population is too great, the Greeks had direct democracy. All the men, regardless whether or not they were rich or poor, were able to participate in the governmental affairs.

In current times, the country of Greece has changed from having a king rule a certain area to having a Prime Minister to take over things. This actually began starting from October 4, 1974, when Konstantinos Karamanlis was sworn in as the first Prime Minister of the land. Since then, the main party, New Democracy, that was founded on the same day.

From there, the battles of who takes over the ruling has been going back and forth between Konstantinos Karamanlis and other rivals, but Karamanlis always prevailed in the end, and he ended up ruling Greece for many years. Thus, this ends with how rocky the politics are.
