Eire with Sail Boat
A shot of the town of Eire, located at the west tip of Santorini. Every night it has thousands of tourists lining the streets and restaurant balconies to watch the sunset over the sea. Upon arriving in Santorini we checked in to a nice hotel just a 10 minute bus ride from the port. The hotel which would usually cost around 150 euro a night during high season was now slashed to only 30 euros a night. We played some pool, took a swim, and then made our way into town. The town was surprisingly full of restaurants, pubs and bars which I did not expect as I thought Santorini was suppose to be a more outdoors touring island, not a drinking one. So, we made our way to a few of the local pubs, had a few drinks, a few laughs, a bite to eat and then headed off to bed.
The day was to be our first sightseeing filled day since our trip began. We took a nice boat cruise around the island, stopping at the volcano island in the middle of the Santorini circular islands and climbed to the top. Here you could put your hand in the dirt and feel how hot it was from the hot gases rising out of the earth. Later we stopped at a murky slightly warm hot springs and took a dip. This was followed
by a nice greek dinner and drinking of wine while watching a breathtaking sunset over the Mediterranean.
Upon arrival back at our hotel, we checked our emails and took a nice sleep after a very tour busy day. Then next morning was our boat ride to another island, Ios...
