Hi Catherine & Brent Push "View Full Entry" now. It was hard having to leave poor Frogbert behind in London after he had got used to having us around for 12 days. On the flight over to Athens, I wrote the following:
In May of 2006 Our daughter crossed the sea Her friends all call her Cath But to us she Catherine, or CC.
In London she stayed first with her brother Good jobs were hard to find And so, she discovered, was a man Of the understanding, caring kind.
And then Frogbert came into her life A cuddly froggy boy He was a valuable companion But not quite the Real McCoy.
Then her brother had a brainwave He suggested to his little sis “If you want to meet Prince Charming Why not give the frog a kiss?”
And so she kissed him day and night His face, his hands, his knees And hugged him so mightily That she put him in a squeeze.
Poor Frogbert could hardly breathe He surely very nearly died And now his voice is but a croak With his mouth stuck open wide.
He revelled in all the love he got He indulged all CC's whims But hoped that she wouldn't think of voodoo And stick him full of pins.
But then one day across the room A young man walked into sight CC's heart decidely increased in pace Since this bloke looked all right.
With the build of a cuddly ted And hair to make the Irish proud He may be not quite as tall as her But for CC he stood out above the crowd.
She soon learnt that his name was Brent To her he seemed the real deal And being a good Kiwi bloke as well Added much to his appeal.
Soon they were seeing a lot of each other Leaving Frogbert increasingly alone Brent didn't like him tagging along A sin for which he must one day atone.
Then when Brent's flat was wound up Leaving him wondering what to do It made sense for them to run one flat Rather than continuing to pay for two.
Frogbert tagged right along When Brent and CC started a flat He had to suffer tough love at times But could forgive CC's Brent for that.
By day he sat on CC's big soft bed Or watched Brent's big HD TV And when they got home from work His smile was clear to see.
Then on one auspicious day On Malta, by the sea Brent got down on one knee And said “Cath, please marry me”.
CC's dreams had all come true But asked “one favour please If we are to wed, we need to return To New Zealand to live as Kiwis”.
And so they are now on their way home Carrying packs apon their backs If love survives the next few months It can't have any cracks.
Upon arriving in New Zealand They''ll make plans to wed each other Booking everything for their day With the help of CC's mother.
Meanwhile Frogbert is back in London But he is never left alone And plans to ride in my backpack To beat Brent and CC home.
And when the wedding day arrives He won't be cast aside He plans to spend the happy day Right there by CC's side.
So don't worry CC about your Frogbert He is happy, healthy, and more He's so grateful for your love for him That his love for you will endure.
We are in the 55 to 60 age group, and are keen travellers. On this trip we are visiting our son and daughter-in-law in London, and travelling to Greece and Turkey for the first time.... full info

HA! Hello. What a surprise entry this was! We've both just read it in bed, on the lap top with a cup of tea. Looking forward to reading more about your bus journey which I am happy to read you seem to be really enjoying.
OMG Hilarious! I think there may have to be a wedding ode perhaps! Glad Frogbert is recovering after his mean step-daddy wouldn't give him any love! :-)
