We were up early this am to get a ride to the airport in Rome for our flight to Santorini! Whoop! Mum was very excited as this and Venice were the 2 places she was most looking forward to! We had a verrrry dodgy taxi driver who seemed to be taking pics on his phone of a girl driving next to us! And was trying to keep even with her the while time till she turned off! Very dodge and meant it took a lil while longer with a few diff routes i am sure to get to the airport! But anywho, we got there in 3 pieces J we had to fly to Athens first which only took about an hour and a half and then our flight to santorini took 25 mins! We thought it would be a tiny plane but it was a normal sized one! We flew into Thira and by the time we landed with the new time diff it was almost 4pm! So most of the day was gone but we stepped into our new hotel – El Greco and it was STUNNING!! Heaps of pools and white arches and all white buildings for the
rooms! Which we later found out was a requirement of mums when she was choosing the hotel! J It was gorgeous! So we unpacked a lil and promptly went out and ha a swim in the gorgeous warm water and sunbathed for a lil bit while dad lay upside down with his feet in the air on the sun chair to get rid of some of the swelling in his feet! He looked amazing! Haha J
We wandered down the road at about 6pm to explore Fira and watch the sunset! Lots of jewellery shops which kept mum happy as she hasn’t had time to do any shopping at all since they’ve been here cos its been so go go go! She found a lovely necklace but think well go back and get it tomorrow as we didn’t wanna miss the sunset. We stumbled across a great find of a restaurant for dinner. Right on the edge of the cliff with a stunning view!! The sun was going down and it was just gorgeous! We all had savory crepes for dinner which was sooo filling but yummy! And mum and I had literally the BEST strawberry daiquiris we have
ever tasted! They were delicious!!! We both weren’t wanting them to end! Unfotunately were the same price as our dinner – 10.50euro! So we just had the one for now BUT will sure go back! We then just followed the road round as I sort of recognised the track from the 10mins we spent in santorini last year on our cruise, and smelt and saw the donkey poo so knew we were on the right track! We went up some very steep stairs and saw the gorgeous sunset of santorini and are now very excited for tomorrow night where we will be in Oia for the sunset! Cant wait to take some amazing pics! We then wandered nice and slowly (such a change!) home through the shops! Everything is open so late! Mum and I had some yummy greek frozen yogurt – mine with M&Ms! It was a nice early night for the 3 of us as we are all knackered! But so excited to have reached the relaxing part of our trip! Even though everything else, while busy, has been amazing!!
