On the top of the Areopogas On Wednesday we went back to the Areopogas, the place where Paul gave his sermon. The day before, we had to read Acts for an assignment, so it was kinda cool going to the place where he gave the sermon right after we had read it in context. Then when we were up on the hill, we read the sermon out loud. That was awesome! We also met a guy there who was working on his dissertation on the hill in Athens. So we talked to him for a while, and he said that he's just been coming up there almost everyday and researching and talking to people just like us. But yea, then that afternoon and evening was just on our own... We had lots of homework to do because it's our last week here, and they want to cram in a lot of stuff while we are here so we don't have to do much while we are traveling around so much. Then Thursday was just class and homework and hang out. We did read an interesting play for the theater class though... Lysistrata by Aristophanes... It was hilarious, but also very dirty too.. especially because it was written

Performing our scene from "The Birds" in the fifth century BC. But yea, so that was a fun class. Then Friday... probably one of the best days yet. In the morning we acted out our scenes that we had been working on (mine was from "The Birds" and I did it with Molly and Sam) at the Odeon of Herodeus Atticus... That was awesome! And apparently it is a huge deal to be allowed inside there... It's not open to the public or anything... David (one of the profs) had to go to like 10 different people that work there before he would get one that would say that he would come unlock it so we could perform our plays there. That was so much fun! We were performing these scenes where they potentially could have been performed over 2,000 years ago! I will post some pictures from there... Also, Peggy (Dr. Hammerling's wife) brought her flute with and she performed something there. And then she let me play it after. The acoustics were amazing! It seated about 14,000 people, and in the top row, a person's talking voice and the flute could be heard, no problem. It was so cool! Then in the afternoon, we

Performing another part of our scene from "The Birds" hiked up Mount Lycabetus, which is one of the highest points in Athens. It was an amazing view! And it was an absolutely gorgeous day. There was also this little white church at the top, which was really cool. And it was gorgeous with the bright blue sky in the background. So that just added to an already great day. Then, on Friday night we went to a dance club, which was a lot of fun. Then, on Saturday we went to this ancient Greek Theater class... That was interesting.. Nothing like what I expected. We were doing things from the chorus of "Ajax" and it was more like dancing... And kinda like tribal Indian dancing, because we were moving around in weird formations and kinda weird ways making weird noises. It was lots of fun though, even though it was a little strange. Also, we had make up on to make us look kinda scary.. and then at one point, I had a mask on too... I'll put up pictures to this makes a little more sense. Last night, we stayed in and watched the movie "300" which is about the Spartans. That was kinda cool since we are

Erik and Liz performing their scene from "Medea" going to Thermopolye this week. The movie was a little gross, so I spent a lot of time uploading pictures during the movie, but it was still kinda nice to see. Then, this morning we went to a place and saw a virtual reality thing on the Agora (downtown ancient Athens)... That was awesome! It was so cool to see what it was probably like 2,000 years ago. It was a little cheesy because it all obviously all animated, but it was still cool and still gave us a sense of what it was like. Then, this afternoon, some of us tried to go shopping but everything was closed because it's Sunday, and because it was SNOWING!! We woke up this morning to snow! It was kinda weird seeing snow on orange trees! And a lot of the city kinda shut down because this doesn't happen often for them.. This is the first time in 4 years that it has snowed at all.. And it was snowing almost all day, and actually accumulated some. So it kinda sucked because it was so cold, but it was also very cool that we got to see it because it doesn't happen much.

Playing Peggy's flute at the Odeon. Then, the rest of the day was just kinda hanging out and relaxing. We are leaving Athens on Tuesday morning, so I don't know when I'll have a good internet connection to publish again, but I'll try soon!
