Isn't it pretty?????
Hey everyone!

Well this might be our last entry for a couple days. Tomorrow we are heading on the ferry to Mykonos, so we might not update until the day after in Mykonos, provided we find an internet cafe.

So yesterday, whew where to start? After eating a delicous breakfast we hopped the metro to the Akropoli station. It was already 11:30 and really hot out. We meant to get going earlier but we didn't get out of bed... I guess we are more jetlagged than we thought. Same with today, its already noon, we only got up an hour ago. So we hopped off the metro and there is the Acropolis in daylight! So beautiful. We grabbed some postcards for Elaine (she collects them), some bottled water (we were all out), and off we went taking pictures along the way. We bought our tickets for 6 Euro which got you into the Acropolis, Greek and Roman agoras (ancient marketplaces), theatre of Dioysos, Kerameikos (ancient cemetary), and the temple of olympic Zeus. The walk up to the Acropolis is long and slippery because of so many feet treading on it. Once you finally get up there, you don't

This is the best shot I got, Dennis has a better one.
see the Parthenon first, but another building. It's way under construction, but we got some neat pics.

Next up, the Parthenon. It is realllllllllllllly big! We went into the Acropolis museum, also very cool, but hard to describe. After we finished with the acropolis (took about 2 hours or so) we headed down, picked up our checked bags, and wandered down to a cool church called "The Church of the Holy Apostles" Greek Orthodox, then onto the Greek Agora. This is were Socrates and Plato would have walked and taught so it was really cool (and funny) to pretend to be them. We ended up seeing all the places on our tickets, except for the Kerameikos, which we saw from the outside. It was not so thrilling, so we didn't go in.

There are stray dogs everywhere here and the ancient sites were no exception. Same with cute kitty cats, who would pounce on your food if you let them. We touch neither still. We got our tickets for our ferry to Mykonos on Friday then went to another delightful Greek dinner. We both had gyros portions and Greek salad. It's so funny, because we both always order

They always give you a huge block of feta on top of Greek salad. We just ordered a side of feta, its great with gyros.
iced tea or juice in Canada, but they have no iced tea here, so its always Coke for me, and either Sprite or Coke for Dennis. So much pop, but we need the sugar to give us energy.

Either way, it was a great day. I got a scarf, we both got Greek patches, and ate a ton of amazing Greek food. We don't think that will stop the entire trip until Italy when we have great Italian food.

We miss you all, love you all, and wish you were here. Today we are off to the archeological museum and Olympic stadium before meeting a friend of Dennis' from his work for drinks.

Yours in Christ,

Dennis and Kim

Dennis is trying to topple the Roman agora! This might land us in trouble...

It's huge! We couldn't fit it onto our camera horizontally.

So Great!
This is awesome and so neat to hear all that you guys are doing. It sounds like you guys have been busy. The dogs there might not be so friendly but the puppies here are and are waiting for you to return and pick one! Still trying to convince Elaine and Dean, but that might take a bit. Enjoy your trip and talk to you soon. Love Laura

I'm getting hungry
So great to see that you are having such a great time. The sites look incredible hard to absorb it all. The food looks great too! Wish I could eat some of it, but not quite yet. Great to hear from you, hope you worked out everything with your money situation. Anything you need call or write, Dad and I are here for you. Love you both, miss you both Mom and Dad P.S. Talked to Deb in Seattle she said if you see any Starbucks Bears with country names on them she would love them, something about a green apron with the name on it. Just stuff them in a corner of your pack sack.

Jealousy rolling in...
Hey happy-in-love escapees! Looks like you made the right choice to leave when you did. It's been pooring here the last couple of days, definitely not nice weather. Looks like you two might be some of the only tanned Edmontonians (and Sherwood Parkians???) when you arrive back in Canada. Wishing you all the best....while I'm stuck here working for the month.
