About 30k east of Wernigerode situated in a plain on the Northern edge of the Harz mountains lies Quedlinburg a small town of over 1400 restored half-timbered buildings lining its cobblestone streets. We found a super spot to stay there in part of one of the carparks set aside for campervans in a spectacular position below the castle and adjoining Romanesque church.
The afternoon was spent getting sore feet while we followed a guide book tour around the town.
