Hello everyone,
My big trip now officially came to an end!
Last weeks in Panama My last weeks in Panama were very boring as I really wanted to leave. Since I came back from Nicaragua I felt ready to leave. I definitely stayed too long, 4 months would have been perfect I think, 5 was just too much. No thing special happened during my last 2 to 3 weeks in Panama....just went out a few times, played some volleyball and basketball etc. So I was really looking forward to leave and be in Europe again.
Germany The first week in Europe I stayed at my friend Christian. I arrived at the airport of Düsseldorf in Germany. Angelika, Tobias’ mom, picked me up at the airport and later in the afternoon she brought me to Oberhausen at Christian’s place (Tobias is my best friend I made during my stay in Australia). I arrived on the 19th birthday of Carsten, his little brother, and he didn’t know I was coming and he became like “frozen” and was completely surprised when he opened the door and saw me, hahaha. It was good to be there again, and to see them
all. Also their sister Sonia, the other brother Oliver, their mom and Christian’s friends Patrick, Florian and Tobias F. During the week I stayed there we played some pool, played Nintendo Wii, had like a small get-together in the garden and some neighbours of Christian also came. I went also to an open-air party during the day called Kiesgrube, in the city of Neuss. I had a good time here, can’t complain.
The week after I Viola picked me up and drove me to Wolfenbüttel, about 4 hours east. She is the sister of my friend Tobi. Tobi used to live with his mom in Krefeld, which is close to Düsseldorf. I contacted the mom a month before to tell her that I’ll be over there and that she shouldn’t tell Tobi anything. Then I found out that Tobi was living with his father in Wolfenbüttel (which is around half way between Krefeld and Berlin). She then tried to convince him to come to Krefeld that weekend but he couldn’t as he would be very busy with work. Since Viola wanted to see him too and that weekend would be a long weekend due to public holidays, she took
me there. He was pleasantly surprised when he saw me and he kept saying: “No way, no way” hahaha “I knew it, I knew it”. Of course he didn’t know anything, hahaha. That day he had to work at a opera-play and we went to see the play, which was at an open-air stage. His work was to check if everything is going right around the stage, to prepare and clean the stage etc etc, which means he had to work before, during and after the play. Both Tobi's parents work in the entertainment industry. The father is an orchest leader, like during opera shows he's the one that leads the orchest. His mom was an opera singer when she was younger and now teaches singing. The next day we went for a ride on Tobi's new motorbike, which was 'awesome"! He drove through the Harz National Park, a very beautiful area. The weather was ok, first dry, then it was raining a little bit (drizzle) and it became dry again. I had the motorbike-clothes of Tobi’s father which perfectly fit me. In a small town near the Harz we had some very good “Italian-German” food before we drove back
home. On the autobahn (expressway/motorway) he drove up to 140 km per hour, which in Germany is a normal speed to drive on such roads. The day after he took me through Wolfenbüttel and Braunschweig, and in the evening we had BBQ at home. And Monday me and Viola drove back to Krefeld, were their mom took me to a market/fair called “Flachsmarkt Burg Linn” and here they showed a lot about the Middle Ages, how they used to make stuff back in that time and there was also a lot of food available and other items for sell. It was held in a big park in the city and lasted for three or four days. The next morning I took the Eurolines bus in Düsseldorf to drive back to the Netherlands.
Netherlands & after Now I’m back in the Netherlands and going back to Curacao at the end of this month for good. I’ll find out about the exact date as soon as possible. Now I’ll have to start checking how much it will cost to ship my stuff to Curacao (it’s not a lot of stuff) and also try to work a little bit until the end
of June. Will try to find something, anything to keep me busy during the coming few weeks as I hate staying at home without nothing to do. Also I’d like to see most people that I know but they’ll have to come to Rotterdam as I’m not planned to travel all across the country visiting people this time. It costs a lot of money and money is now VERY sparse, lol.
Ok, that’s all. Take care and have a nice day!
Elton
