Nyons - Sentier des OliviersNyons - Sentier des OliviersNyons - Sentier des Oliviers

Looking down at Nyons through the olive trees
Managed to book our court successfully this morning and had our first game of tennis in weeks. There are 4 courts in Nyons and quite a sizable clubhouse. The club seems to be quite active...the three other courts were all in use including one where coaching was in progress. We played singles which was fun but tiring, especially as we hadn't played for a while. A coffee and a tarte aux pommes soon fixed that and after lunch and a bit of a rest we undertook a mapped out walk (Sentier des Oliviers) around and through the local olive groves. We made our way up the side of a steepish hill in what was referred to as a "facile" (easy) walk. There were beautiful views through the olive trees across Nyons and to the surrounding mountains and lots of interesting information en route about the growing and processing of olives and olive oil.
