We spent a day at Sabliere(after Florac and before reaching Avignon) in the mid Pyrenees natural park. Photo of Linda by the river at the bottom of the gorge.
After spending two lovely days in Florac we drove to Avignon.

I really wasn’t prepared for how spectacular Avignon was. We had a campsite on an isle in the Rhone directly across from the historic Avignon centre. Saturday was our first day of culture, we toured the papal palace and it really was stunning. – it was the home of the popes from 1309 to 1403 don’t you know.

At night we ate diner there, and yes I did have to have a go on the big wheel just outside - lovely views even at night.

After Avignon we headed towards Montpellier and stopped just outside at Clapiers.
