In the quaint village of Castelnaudary, France there are polite, charming people who don't speak English. This is an important travel tip for those visiting who haven't mastered the French-At-A-Glance Phrase Book and Dictionary for Travelers on the long-ass flight over there.

Our hapless adventure begins with Austin Girl, the non-speaking-French blonde Baptist traveler who visited the south of France for a few weeks while writing her screenplay. Armed with only the knowledge of two words: 'Bonjour' and 'Merci' -- she quickly surmised that she may be mired in deep doggie doo doo shit.

Each morning, Austin Girl visited "The Caffe' Bar" located in the town square. And each morning, using a drunken form of sign language, she described her coffee drink of choice to the French-speaking Waiter Boy who had a permanent clueless look painted across his face. Each morning, Waiter Boy delivered a different drink to her table. Most were espresso shots served in Barbie doll-size cups. But, one morning, yes, one morning was different. Waiter Boy brought Austin Girl a large cup of hot coffee. He leaned in and whispered in sexy French accent, "Anglaise caffe, oui?" Which translates to boiled coffee. Austin Girl lit up a smile as wide as Texas and repeated, "Oui, oui, oui." From then on, French-speaking-only Waiter Boy knew English-speaking-only Austin Girl preferred boiled coffee over the stop-your-heart French espresso shots.

Quickly realizing there may be an interesting plot or character for her next screenplay, Austin Girl jotted this important information down for future referencing. She titled her page: ‘I Don't Speak French’ and snapped a photo of some French dude's dog.
