Eiffel Tower
View from our room... the picture does not do it justice. Soooooo, we can see the Eiffel Tower from our room....really it is only the tip (that's what she said :S), but it is definitely the Eiffel Tower. It is soooo romantic (right Amy?) Anyway... I forgot how tiring traveling Europe can be, walking and packing luggage around.... but it was sooo worth it when we got to our little Parisien room and saw the Eiffel Tower. Our hotel was in a cute little neighborhood in walking distance from the tower, so we were able to have picnics and hang out in the area and just stare at the amazing Eiffel tower. Wow if you didn't already know, I kinda have a thing for the Eiffel Tower. Rob was pretty impressed by the tower at night. The lawn was packed with people drinking, eating and hanging out staring up at amazement. Rob so far in Paris has taken like 600 photos, it is crazy. I think I may be in one or two of them :P I am also happy to be able to speak French, except that it means I have to do all the talking. Rob usually says well you should go get it because you speak French but that
will only last so long, soon we will be in neutral countries where both of us will be lost.
So far in two and a half days in Paris we have seen quite a bit. We tried to get a lot of the main tourist things out of the way so when we come back for our last week of vacation we can sit back and relax. So of course we have seen the Eiffel Tower (I may have mentioned that once or twice). We also visited Notre Dame and climbed the 386ish stairs to the top to get an amazing view of Paris and see the Gargoyles up close. We also walked along the Paris Plage which is a beach they have with activities along the Seine River (no you can't swim in it but they have some spritzer areas lol). We saw the Louvre and the many statues, cool bridges and amazing buildings en route. We went to the Concorde, the Jardins de Tuileries, walked the Champs-Elysées, L'Arc de Triomphe, Sacré Coeur, Moulin Rouge. Next to the Jardins de Tuileries they have a fair and Rob and I were totally stunned by the carnival prizes. Yes some
Cafe
My first Parisien Cafe of the trip booths had stuffed animals you can win but others had IPADS, Ipods, IPHONES, PS3s etc etc etc, sure the games were pretty impossible to win but seriously just stacks of major prizes sitting around at multiple booths. It was crazy.
So we have seen a lot and done a lot and are both exhausted. It was definitely difficult though to leave Paris on our stupid Ryan Air flight to Barcelona, which actually lands in Reus which is 1.5 hours outside of Barcelona. I am not gonna lie we have both taken far more taxis than we both took on our last Euro-Trips (actually I don't think Angela and I took any taxis last time). Anyway... we are both looking forward to some nice relaxation by the beach in Santorini, first we have to get through a few more days of travel.
See below for more photos... I don't know why some are not working, sorry.
